One of the unquestionable attractions of Szczawnica is a chair-lift for four people "Palenica", situated in the centre of the town, near the bus station (PKS). After three minutes' ride you can find yourself on the top of Palenica (722 m. above sea level). In summer it makes a great base for hiking and bicycle trips, from where there are picturesque views on Pieniny with Three Crowns (Trzy Korony) and Sokolica and the Slovak Tatra Mountains with clearly visible Lomnica. From spring till autumn near the upper chair-lift station there is a very popular gravity toboggan run. In winter all ski lovers are welcome on Palenica. There are slopes of a different level of difficulty, from the glades for the beginners on the slopes of Szafranówka with three T-bar lifts, through a snowboard gutter to the runs for advanced skiers Palenica I and a new so called "Family Trail" Palenica II. All the runs 

are artificially snow-covered and are kept in a good condition by the  snow machines. Near the lower cable railway station "Palenica" there is a little hotel "Pod kolejka" with luxurious rooms and a parking. A lot of times giant slalom, parallel slalom and halfpipe competitions were taking place here, e.g. Polish Cup and all snowboard events during Uniwersjada in 2001.

No 1 Palenica - difficult, lenght 1000 m , difference of levels 250 m, black FIS.

No 2 Szafranówka I - easy route , lenght 400 m, difference of levels 75 m, blue.

No 3 Szafranówka II - lenght 500 m, difference of levels 100 m, red.

No 4 Palenica II - family route, lenght 1800 m, difference of levels 270 m, blue.

No 5 Szafranówka - HALFPIPE - slope 200, wideness 15 m, height of the walls 3,5 m, ski lift accosieted, FIS, red. 

Ski Center Palenica offers kind of ski lifts: Chair-lift - lenght 783m, difference of levels 262m, bandwidth 2200 per/h. Three Tbar-lifts with lenght from 262m to 310m, difference of levels average 75 m and bandwidth 760 per/h. One small Tbar-lift with lenght 100m.
